A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A CLOTHING PROCESSOR

As an entry-level Clothing Processor at Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc., you play a vital role in supporting our mission of providing services to the community. While people love our organized stores and affordable merchandise, one thing that keep our customers coming back is the exceptional quality of merchandise we offer!

As a Clothing Processor, you greet donors and accept their donations and issue tax receipts. You will pre-sort donations by category. With attention to detail, you will inspect clothing for quality, and get to select and price items for the sales floor. If you have an eye for fashion, and are a bit of a treasure hunter, this job is for you!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CLOTHING PROCESSOR

  • Ability to be on your feet
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 20 lbs frequently; 50 lbs occasionally; and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Customer service skills

JOB STATUS: Hourly


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sorts, hangs, tags and sizes donations according to established guidelines.

  • Meets established production standards.

  • Keeps production area orderly throughout business hours.

  • Refers customer problems to management.

  • Heavy lifting, pushing and pulling required.

  • Handles all aspects of customer service in a professional manner.

  • Follows all safety rules and practices.

  • Performs all other duties as may be assigned by management in the process of carrying out the mission of Goodwill Industries.

  • In order to promote customer and donor satisfaction it is mandatory for employees who come in contact with the public to maintain a positive work outlook and to project a pleasant, courteous, and helpful demeanor at all times when dealing with customers, donors, coworkers, and clients.


NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Answers telephone and other inquiries regarding donation sites/policies.

2. Attends monthly store meetings.

3. Watches for illegal activities and alerts management.

4. Performs stock rotation according to established procedures.


ATTENDANCE

Goodwill, your co-workers, and our customers depend on you to be at work as scheduled.

An assigned rotation allows you to plan around your work schedule.


JOB PERFORMANCE

Reviewed upon initial hire at 30, 60 and 90 days, and annually thereafter, by the Store Manager.
