Summary:
$500 Sign on Bonus
$15 to $17.50 per hour
This position is responsible for assisting residents in all normal activities of daily living such as dressing, eating, bathing, toileting, etc. The CNA may also provide restorative nursing care to help restore residents' functional capabilities in activities of daily living such as mobility, cognition, food and fluid intake, and others as identified by nursing and/or rehabilitation professionals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides for patient’s personal hygiene: gives bedpans, urinals, baths, back rubs, shampoos, and shaves, and assists with showers.
- Provides for activities of daily living: assists with meals and feeds patients; ambulates, turns, and positions patients: provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Reviews care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident’s daily care routine have been made. Informs charge nurse of any changes in resident’s condition so appropriate information can be entered on care plan.
- Administers elimination assistance including toileting, enema, catheter care, training programs, and cleansing.
- Reports skin care observations to charge nurse to preserve skin integrity.
- Transfer residents as identified on the care plan, utilizing appropriate rehabilitation transfer techniques and good body mechanics.
- Reports all incidents to the charge nurse immediately. Do not attempt to move a resident who has fallen until the resident has been assessed by the charge nurse and appropriate instructions have been given on moving the resident.
- Restrains residents in chair/bed as instructed by physician in charge and follow up with resident every 30 minutes.
- Provide for comfort needs of residents.
- Work efficiently as a team member in the delivery of care and assist in the orientation of new employees.
- Utilizes resources and materials in an efficient and safe manner.
- Instills confidence in the residents by maintaining a neat appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner.
- Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.
- Maintains good working relations among all nursing staff and other employees through appropriate communication.
- Cleans, disinfects, and returns all resident care equipment to its designated storage area after each use. Performs routine housekeeping duties; clean bedrails, over-bed table, and night stand ect.
- Follows all procedures in the use and disposal of personal protective equipment.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:
- Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Must have successfully completed a nursing assistant course that is certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
- Must successfully qualify after completion of a criminal background check as required by the IDPH.
4. Previous hospital or senior care experience preferred.
5. Must have good interpersonal relations with proven communication skill, both verbal and
written.
Physical Requirements:
1. Heavy lifting requiring frequently lifting of 75 to 100 pounds, such as transferring
residents from bed to wheelchair and/or lifting and carrying heavy objects.
2. Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching such as bathing a resident, wiping
spills on floor, making a bed, lifting food trays from a cart, and placing materials on
shelves, etc.
3. Frequent walking.
4. Frequent pushing and pulling heavy carts such as food carts, medication carts, hand trucks,
etc.
5. Occasionally climbing of stairs, stools, and ladders.
