Work Now Staffing is looking to hire CNC Programmer/Operators for our Romeoville client.

Shift: 1st - 7:00am - 3:30pm

Pay: $26.41 per hour

Job Details:

  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and set up requirements
  • Measures, marks and scribe’s dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media
  • Basic program writing and editing of existing programs
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications
  • Removed burrs and sharp edges from work pieces
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel or others to resolve machine problems

Qualifications:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software and Word Processing software
  • Knowledge of use on mills, lathes, drills, and grinders. Must know how to use calipers, veneers, micrometers, and common hand tools.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
