Half Time, Nights, Saturday and Sunday 7:00PM - 7:00AM. 24 hours/week.
Pay Range is between $22.00-$24.20/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. **Range includes night and weekend differential.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Com Center Specialist I is an entry level position into the Com Center and will ultimately be responsible for all duties that are carried out within the Com Center of Boulder Community Hospital. Tasks are completed on a 24 x 7 coverage of the Com Center. Duties will range from data entry, pager distribution, radio maintenance, tracking of phone calls, work orders, Hospital Operator duties, emergency code announcements and all functions involved around these announcements, and other essential functions of the Com Center. The Com Center is the hub of the Hospital communications and will continue to take on new responsibilities of which this job description will absorb.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education or Formal Training
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.)
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
- Must possess excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to de-escalate situations and to act calmly in times of direct conflict.
- Computer literacy
- Able to perform in a command presence fashion under duress.
- Word processing, database skills and software understanding.
- Ability to utilize telephones, radios and pagers.
- Ability to work alone
- Problem solving capabilities
Experience
Previous secretarial experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Telephone support for all Hospital Campus’ and involved directly with the Facilities Management Department.
- Pager and radio support for the entire hospital.
- Regular keyboard use.
- Begin to utilize many computer software programs.
- Monitoring of alarms, camera monitors, and other Security technology.
- Secretarial support of all Facilities Management staff.
- Data entry and coordination of Facilities Management software programs.
- Issuance of work order priorities, scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency calls.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
- Must have the ability to sit at desk for long periods of time.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks on a continual basis.
- Must have the ability to write accurate, legible reports utilizing word processing equipment and database software utilizing charts and graphs.
- Able to work in situations where direct supervision is not present at all times.
- Mentally, must be able to think clearly, prioritize requests and respond clearly in times of crisis.
- Must respect confidential data regarding employees, patients and visitors.
- Utilization of computer programs that may not be familiar.
- Ability to stand a stationary office watch while monitoring alarms, surveillance cameras, data entry screens, report generation, printers, radio dispatch traffic, and incoming calls.
