Commercial Business Development Manager Job at Skyetec Group
Quality Built/SkyeTec is looking for a Commercial Business Development Manager to promote and sell Technical and Quality Assurance Services to General Contractors, Owner/Developers, and other clients for all types of commercial projects including multifamily, hospitality, industrial, educational, and healthcare. This Commercial Business Development Manager will help secure contracts with industry partners to use Technical and Quality Assurance services. This is an outside sales position and will require direct sales methods such as cold calling and meeting face to face, as well as indirect methods like networking.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Identify strategic relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Sell services to businesses and have substantial knowledge of services sold.
- Establish relationships with new customers and secure contracts with new customers that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets.
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales.
- Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking within the assigned territory.
- Consult with prospect about business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and cost benefits of each.
- Make presentations to senior managers and decision makers.
- Draft and deliver approved proposals.
- Reporting on sales activity daily, weekly, and monthly, as requested
- Keep detailed notes on prospect and customer interactions
- Provide forecasts on best case and most likely sales volumes over relevant time periods
- Work with marketing to plan and execute lead generation campaigns
- Be a positive representative of the company and its brand in the marketplace
- Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity
- Travel 50 to 75% of the time as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Sales
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of commercial construction methods and practices, scheduling, sequencing
- Knowledge of Client/GC/Trade relationships
- Knowledge of construction document design process and best approach for services impact in that process
- Knowledge and ability to present services that improve quality, reduce risk, and provide overall value to the project, end product and client bottom line
- Ability to communicate information and ideas.
- Ability to present products clearly so others understand you.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Persuasion skills
- Able to present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients,
and the general public.
- Positive attitude and the ability to work within a team environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills including MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
- Proven sales ability and desire to succeed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or four years of related sales
experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Safe driving record and reliable vehicle.
- Construction sales experience isn’t required but preferred
