Qualified candidates must reside/work out of either the Enid, OK corporate office or the Little Rock, AR site.

JOB DESCRIPTION -

SUMMARY: The Liability Claims Manager handles all aspects of property and commercial casualty claims, including multi-jurisdictional claim examination, investigation, coverage determination, liability, compensability, subrogation, adjustments, litigation, and settlements within the limit of assigned authority levels. Maintains accurate records of claims and provides management with regular reports. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out within established guidelines, including legal and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receives claim assignments from Director of Claims and verify applicability of coverage;

Determines appropriate methods and extent of needed investigation for all assigned claims and conducts investigation primarily through contact via telephone, obtaining appraisals; insured, claimant, witness statements/interviews; visual evaluations or other necessary fact-finding methods in order to establish proper coverage;

Ensures proper file documentation and reporting ofinformation is secured as result of claim activity. Ensures rationale for settlement that is consistent with company procedures, reporting standards and guidelines;

Responsible for taking telephone and/or electronic reports of property and casualty claims and notify the Director of Claims;

Responsible for timely contact with insureds and claimants on all assigned claims;

Determines extent ofdamages, coordinates, and establishes repair/damage amounts. Enter into final settlement negotiations up to a limit ofassigned authority levels and participates in litigation process in conjunction withdefense counsel when necessary;

Assesses and develops information necessary for potential and/or successful pursuit of potential subrogation recovery;

Arranges contractor estimates or other specialist appointments when necessary;

Acts as liaison with attorneys, independent adjusters/appraisers, underwriting department, loss control department, investigators, or other service vendors as necessary to manage claims including attending trials, mediations, arbitrations and conducting face-to-face negotiations;

Responsible for proper notification to reinsurance carriers and management personnel of any and all claims that fall within those guidelines;

Provides information to the Director of Claims to establish and maintain proper claims reserves;

Regular and sustained attendance;

Performs other jobs as requested by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Knowledge ofinsurance claim handling and supervision as normally acquired through undergraduate studies, industry related courses such as AIC and/or two to four years ofrelated business experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints. Command of all skills necessary for oral and written communication.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability toturn computer on and off and do basic trouble shooting when it comes to periodic user malfunctions; ability to navigate and successfully use Internet browsers, email software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Atlas.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Meet the professional certification or licensing requirements of state and local jurisdiction (in which assigned) for providing adjusting services within a period specified and agreed upon at the time of employment.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,diagram or schedule form. Proven ability to set work priorities that conform to established company standards.
