The Communications Associate will play a key role in contributing to the development of overall message strategy and communications efforts and assisting leadership on proactive and reactive communications opportunities. The role will include producing engaging, clear communications, particularly well-written content, for senior leadership and copy for different channels such as websites, customer-facing Apps, print and digital collateral. Their duties include proofreading their work for accuracy and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with internal and external communications
- Have a strong understanding of business activities and objectives to ensure written materials are compelling and accurately convey the organization’s communications.
- Provide speechwriting for identified events and leadership speaking engagements
- Write clear and error-free content that reflects the company’s voice
- Edit and proof work to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs
- Help develop positioning and communications strategies for the company
- Edit and proofread copy to meet content expectations
- Collaborate with various internal departments to assess project needs and help with messaging
- Drive brand consistency across all company communications
- Understand content, purpose, audience, setting and objectives for each deliverable
- Create compelling content including pitches, press releases, bylined articles, and company announcements
- Generate other written material and resources, such as presentations, briefings, and fact sheets, as needed
- Interpret creative direction and technical information to deliver persuasive copy concepts
- Periodically draft social media copy
- Edit/ proofread materials written by others to ensure that the text is accurate and appropriate
- Regularly circulate draft material to the appropriate internal subject matter experts for review, synthesizing feedback and ensuring accuracy and relevance prior to finalizing
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in speechwriting; corporate or product communications or related field
- Outstanding written communication skills
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar
- Demonstrated track record of successful copywriting, proofreading, information research and analysis, content generation covering text, data and graphics, storytelling, and ability to work accurately to tight deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
- A self-starter, comfortable working independently
- Proven ability to demonstrate brand voice
- Strong attention to detail
- Receptive to feedback
