CCC is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our Public Affairs team!

This is a one-year temporary position on Central City Concern’s Public Affairs (PA) team. This position is intended to support change communications and facilitate positive organizational change processes. Working closely with Health Services staff and contracted subject matter experts, the Communications Specialist will plan, implement and communicate procedures to all staff regarding implementing CCC’s EPIC electronic health record system. Duties include developing and writing communications plans, producing internal content for multiple channels (email, intranet, newsletters, Town Halls), creating audio/visual materials supporting staff education, and occasionally producing content for CCC patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, write and edit internal and client-facing communications, including communications plans, presentations, newsletters, flyers, fact sheets, employee and client stories, emails, blog posts, and other general communications for projects and initiatives.
  • Apply standard project management techniques to communications projects, including developing editorial calendars, meeting deadlines, collaborating with team members, and resolving issues to keep projects on course.
  • Review and copy edit communications, including organizational and program communications, to ensure consistency, readability, and alignment with company style.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contractors to gather information and input for developing printed, digital and audiovisual content.
  • Provide reports on project outcomes to the Executive Leadership Team in various formats (white papers, PowerPoint presentations, infographics, dashboards, spreadsheets).
  • Maintain and organize digital assets in a searchable database, including images, text, video, and other forms of media.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identifying information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
  • Attend all mandatory CCC training in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, political science, public affairs, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible professional communications and project management experience, including the ability to prioritize, organize and plan communications projects for various audiences.
  • Superior writing ability with outstanding grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills while producing a variety of communications.
  • Strong AP knowledge and demonstrated skill in copy editing.
  • Motivation to advance the organization’s mission.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects. Able to climb stairs several times a day.
