JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for generating written and visual collateral to be published in various outlets with the goal of strengthening our culture and providing more visibility to work across the organization. The role is accountable for building communications plans which support the business processes, technologies, organizational structure, roles, and systems.


The Communications Specialist will interact across all levels at Viega, providing support, developing, and coordinating communications for the organization, as well as supporting project-based communication needs.


JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Responsibilities

  • Establish a company-wide communication plan, generating storylines and cross functionally supporting for the organization.
  • Ensure all communications highlight the company’s Purpose, Values, or tie to Strategy.
  • Maintains consistency in messages with a focus of aligning goals.
  • Engage broadly across the organization to create content, programs and support initiatives
  • Confidently and tactfully address issues with leadership and peers.
  • Support the design, development, delivery and management of communications relevant to change initiatives.
  • Lead all internal communications activities creating a consistent tone for employee communications and CEO communications
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across business units and ensure proper communications of work and milestones.
  • Manage and maintain standardized processes, tools, templates, and communication vehicles.
  • Support the implementation of communication technology and assumes ownership of the systems go-forward.
  • Conducts tracking of communication effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and team/project management skills with demonstrated ability to concurrently manage multiple projects, plan and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to create compelling content through multiple channels for varied internal audiences
  • Solid, hands-on experience in communication planning and development, including socialization, stakeholder identification, analysis and engagement, stakeholder alignment, workforce engagement and empowerment, managing resistance, cultural transformation and sustainment
  • Ability to work within a virtual, fast paced and dynamically changing environment. High level of energy, sense of urgency, and passion for building personal and organizational change capability.
  • Ability to engage and work effectively at all levels in the organization and with other third parties
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with adaptability to work with people from all areas of the business; builds and maintains highly effective working relationships; has a comprehensive and well-developed network. Facilitation, coaching, mentoring and team leadership skills
  • Ability to break down complex challenges, identify root causes, and structure targeted recommendations.
  • Excellent active listening and communications skills with a demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Ability to understand business strategy and translate to people-oriented plans; strong business acumen
  • Analytical mindset, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Ability to demonstrate overall flexibility, adaptability, balance and well-rounded knowledge based within all facets of role.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Relevant communication experience required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in communications and/or change management required.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
