 Position description
 This individual will be a content creator who is strategic and can develop an overall “social first” strategy. This person will be responsible for planning and creating content for multiple channels. The position will write, edit, produce multimedia content with one voice that aligns with strategic priorities and work closely with the content management and social media team. The person will need to be versatile with an expectation to create content on other channels when needed.
 
 The department is responsible to build, grow and protect Mayo Clinic’s reputation in a way that shapes the external environment and nurtures the culture to help achieve the mission of the organization. Department functions consist of reputation management including thought leadership and issues/crisis response; client communications and engagement programs; staff engagement; content and channels; government and community engagement; strategy and insights; communications services.
 
 The specialist understands Mayo Clinic business objectives and priorities and participates in creating and implementing plans to meet those objectives. The specialist supports client needs and partners with other department team members to drive and measure outcomes. Must develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance the organization's mission.
 
 Qualifications 
 Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field plus 1 year of relevant work experience in communications. Related internships will be considered.
 
 Additional qualifications 
 An ideal candidate will have experience in social media content strategy with a record of innovation. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate in a way that creates clarity, simplifies messages, and aligns with organizational strategy. Knowledge of channels for communication and the ability to build effective communication and engagement strategies.
 
 Must be a self-starter with the ability to independently identify opportunities, solutions and resolve challenges. Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful results. Requires an attitude that actively seeks out change, embraces critical questioning, innovation, service and continuous improvement. Must understand how to deal with and navigate ambiguity, and act without having the total picture. Adaptable or flexible. Demonstrated professionalism and ethics, with ability to earn credibility through integrity and transparency. Role models service excellence.  Schedule details 
 M-F, business hours, with the ability to work outside of those hours for unexpected needs/events. The preference is for this position to be located within proximity to one of the Mayo Clinic campuses (Jacksonville, FL; Phoenix, AZ; or Rochester, MN); but the position may also work remotely from any location within the U.S. Occasional travel may be required.
