Position Summary:

The CFTSS Community Clinical Specialist will be responsible for the service delivery of the Children and Family Treatment and Support Services in accordance with NYS Standards of Care. These include OLP, Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assists and supports the CFTSS Supervisor and Lead Clinician with assessment, evaluation, and ongoing individual, family and group psychotherapy.

  • Develop the Treatment Plan and client-centered goals and deliver service components of CFTSS; specifically, OLP, CPST and PSR.

  • Provide solution-focused interventions using evidence-based practices.

  • Provides crisis avoidance interventions.

  • Provides strengths-based service planning and psychoeducation to children and families in the community.

  • Service provision to include supporting youth with daily living skills, community integration, specific mental/behavioral health interventions and social and interpersonal skills along with their families.

  • Collaboration with families, schools, and other provider agencies to successfully provide services.

  • Provides clinical psychotherapy; including individual, family and group psychotherapy as required.

  • Meets with children/families based on the frequency, scope and duration noted in the CFTSS Treatment Plan.

  • Provides clinical assessment, evaluation and treatment and completes documentation within 24-72 hours of service provision.

  • Completes a minimum of 20 hours of billable contacts per week.

  • Participates in weekly supervision with the CFTSS Supervisor.

  • Completes ongoing training and professional development as necessary.

  • All other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge in clinical psychotherapy with individuals, families and groups; including assessment, evaluation, and treatment.
  • Knowledge of evidence based practices to serve children and youth.

  • Knowledge of trauma informed care.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and web-based software applications.

  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.


Measures of Success:

  • Consistently completes at least 20 hours of billable services per week.

  • Completes all documentation within 72 hours of sessions.


MINIMUM Qualifications:

  • LMSW or MHC Degree

  • 2-3 years’ experience working with children and families

  • NYS Driver's License in good standing as determined by the Agency


PREFERRED Qualifications:

  • LCSW or LMHC
