KVCAP is searching for individuals to be part of a progressive and innovative team in its Family Enrichment Program in Kennebec/Somerset County. This position is full-time for 32 hours per week.
The role of the Community Educator is to:
- Implement strategies to prevent, address and reduce child abuse and neglect.
- Deliver state-approved, evidence-based/informed prevention programs, and parent education curriculum within the Counties.
- Provide relevant professional trainings to childcare providers and community partners
- Assist with documentation, tracking and reporting data as related to program and client activities.
The successful candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of child development. Candidates must be team oriented and present competencies in practical decision making and problem-solving skills and successful experience facilitating programs to diverse populations. A flexible schedule including some evenings is required to accommodate community, program, and agency needs. Candidates must possess strong organizational, computer, interpersonal and communication skills.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
- Experience and willingness to work with culturally diverse populations as well as experience in providing parent education programming.
- Ability to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Motor Vehicle, National Sex Offender Registry and Fraud background checks.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have use of a vehicle insured to State of Maine requirements.
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination or obtain an exemption
