POSITION SUMMARY: The Community Engagement Coordinator will provide direct support for the implementation of the organization's community engagement plan. In leading the organization's volunteer program, facilitating community partnerships, and providing key support for organizational events, the Coordinator will play a strategic role in cultivating a community of champions for the organization's work and mission.
Salary: 57,205 - 67,300 year
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Leads the organization's community investment work including researching outgoing sponsorships opportunities, maintaining existing community relationships, and managing the community investment budget
- Helps develop community investment strategy and create organizational engagement experiences aligned with this strategy
- Communicates with external organizations and internal departments to ensure any sponsorship payments are made and received
- Coordinates with internal staff to ensure the use of sponsorship benefits and maximize their impact
- Coordinates WellPower's participation in community activities and events including leading planning sessions and coordinating individual staff participation
- Represents WellPower at community events including tabling opportunities, festivals, meetings, and
- Manages the organization's Volunteer Program including:
- Creating volunteer opportunity descriptions for posting
- Reviewing and vetting prospective volunteers
- Completing volunteer orientations
- Maintaining relationships with individual and group volunteers
- Meeting consistently with internal departments in order to gauge new and ongoing volunteer needs
- Providing oversight for the volunteer program including regular follow-up with both the volunteers and internal departments to review volunteer experiences
- Supports the organization's community engagement efforts in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing community and corporate relationships
- Serves as a primary point of contact for community partners
- Works with the Engagement and Communications team to explore new partnership opportunities
- Prioritizes WellPower's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all work activities
- Supports the Mental Health First Aid program as an instructor for both internal and external Mental Health First Aid trainings
- Supports the organization in planning for events including annual fundraising and giving programs as well as tabling events in the community
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, marketing, public relations, communications, political science, or a related field required. National certification in Mental Health First Aid instruction strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible experience in a healthcare setting. Background in not-for-profit organizations, community engagement, and volunteer management preferred.

- Detail-oriented, exceptional organizational skills,
- Interpersonal communication with a variety of people
- Certification in Mental Health First Aid instruction preferred
- Able to balance priorities and be flexible in a changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people and programs
- Ability to identify and resolve issues independently, taking initiative in ambiguous circumstances
- Cross-functional project management experience
- Proven public speaking and presentation skills
- Proficient computer skills or able and willing to learn required technology skills
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises volunteer program
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting-up to 40 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.
