- Possess and maintain knowledge of complex epidemiologic and surveillance methods, knowledge of current concepts of population health management, program evaluation and needs assessment.
- Design and implement epidemiologic studies to understand disease burden and healthcare service utilization among Blue KC members.
- Use data analysis to Identify opportunities for community-based programs and inform health equity strategies based on disease prevalence and patterns of healthcare utilization.
- Utilizing data, assist in the planning and implementation of community-based programs and health equity strategies to improve quality and healthcare outcomes.
- Measure and analyze impact and effectiveness of community health programs.
- Prepare presentations and technical reports in a clear and concise manner to communicate findings from epidemiologic studies to management, providers, and other interested parties.
- Disseminate research results through presentations to scientific ad professional groups through publications in scientific and professional journals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology, Biostatistics or related field
- Experience in health care
- Excellent analytical, planning, problem-solving, verbal and written skills to communicate complex ideas
- Proficient in the use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) with strong working knowledge of data languages such as SAS or SQL
- Proficient in statistical methods, business process metrics, outcomes measurements, process modeling, quality assessment, etc.
- Experience analyzing complex integrated health care data including membership, professional and facility claims, lab and pharmacy data
- Ability to work effectively with diverse client and staff populations.
- Knowledge of health care and practice with diverse populations and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral Degree (PhD or Dr.PH) in related field
- Experience in Population Health
