JOB TITLE: COMMUNITY IMPACT ASSOCIATE

REPORTS TO: Director of Community Impact

STATUS: Full time

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provide support and participation in the processes that leads to implementing best practices on our community while working to advance our impact agenda and gets results.

DUTIES LISTED BY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Staff teamwork: Support impact team projects, coalition work, and coordinate events or projects. Develop individual work plans to achieve goals and communicate progress and seek direction with supervisor.

United Way Investments: participate in and support recommending and monitoring program investments that achieve results.

  • Help develop and prepare support materials for the impact team process. This includes the RFP, agency agreements, various forms, reports, and databases, policies, timelines, materials, and communications.
  • Assist in the recruitment and process for training and managing the volunteer talent that leads to impact team success.
  • Help make sure appropriate organizations have knowledge and the information they need to apply or partner with us on our work.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting group trainings, meetings, or individual technical assistance sessions for potential or funded partners. Topics include process information, outcome measures or result reporting or other subjects as needed to achieve Community Impact goals.
  • As part of a team, provide ongoing evaluation and strategic thinking to make improvements the investment process and ensure it is efficient.
  • Help develop and maintain a database of community program information and outcomes for funded partner programs.
  • Ensure appropriate organizations have knowledge and the information they need to apply or partner with us on our work.

Issue knowledge: be informed of best practices, data, and the local community experts

  • Be knowledgeable of data, services and gaps that exist in the community as they relate to United Way’s mission and Bold Goal.
  • Participate in supporting the LIFE project so that data collected is meaningful for measuring community progress in our priorities.
  • Be knowledgeable to assist in establishing appropriate outcome measurements that will show program success.

Collective Impact: convene groups to work together on common goals.

  • Be connected to various sectors including schools, government, nonprofit groups working on advancing United Way’s mission and Bold Goal
  • Ensure right groups are connected and people involved in the coalitions.
  • Ensure that appropriate communications for members to function are fulfilled.
  • Help develop a coalition work plan and sub committee structure.
  • Assist in identifying or writing for grants to obtain resources needed to accomplish the plans.
  • Support or be involved to make sure special projects occur successfully.
  • Help ensure United Way’s key role is understood and promoted in materials and media to enhance our brand image, being sensitive to the role that partners share in contributing to coalition success.

Support United Way organization: in the engagement of donors, fundraising, messaging, increasing understanding of issues and connecting to each other’s areas of work etc.

  • Ensure United Way’s community impact message is mainstreamed into marketing and the organization’s communication. This includes sharing stories, updating web page information, writing articles, preparing data reports, etc.
  • Utilize shared systems and policies for maintaining data, documents, volunteer information, communications, and calendars
  • Manage and input data for dashboard results that include things like volunteer hours, media coverage, event attendance, or in-kind donations and common outcomes.
  • Be open to change and involved in the strategic thinking, such as planning, lean, or project evaluation.
  • Identify or seek other sources of funds when appropriate.
  • Perform and coordinate special projects and other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· At least two years in a position providing office support or project management

· Associate degree preferred

· Proficient in use of computers, Microsoft Office products

· Ability to learn new software, maintain data and develop reports and communications

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

· Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy, reliability, and timeliness

· Ability to function as a member of a high-performance team

· Ability to work with the public and volunteers

· Congenial personality

· Maintain Confidentiality

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,300.00 - $37,400.00 per year
