General Summary

Under the supervision of the AVP of Marketing & Member Experience, this position will be responsible for supporting community outreach and marketing activities of Florida State University Credit Union, including facilitating partnerships, assisting in public relations efforts, event management, marketing material coordination, and sales initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Actively seek out community outreach and partnership opportunities and promote credit union products and services.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and organizes events and volunteers to advance the mission and goals of the credit union; be present at events as needed.
  • Assist in the development and management of communication and sales strategies designed to meet Credit Union goals and initiatives.
  • Assists branch offices with displays, promotions, and marketing materials, clearly communicating the purpose and details of promotions to ensure brand consistency and the timely update of materials.
  • Assist in the management and content development for diverse communications, including press releases, member newsletter, website, email, and social media.
  • Assist in the production and distribution of advertising, marketing brochures, sales tools, and other promotional materials.
  • Assists in maintaining and updating websites to ensure that content is accurate and up to date.
  • Manage donation and sponsorship requests.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with existing and potential members.
  • Promote the service and sales culture by maintaining basic knowledge of products and services and referring members to the appropriate person/department.
  • Conduct research and complete special projects as assigned by the AVP, Marketing & Member Experience.

Job Specifications

  • Work requires extensive knowledge of Communications and Business concepts. These characteristics are normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor?s degree in Communications or Business and some relevant work experience. Three to five years of relevant work experience can substitute for a bachelor?s degree.
  • Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and some Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability and willingness to offer new ideas and work with all levels of the organization, including members.
  • Desire to pursue and attend opportunities for professional development.
  • Familiarity with social media channels and an understanding of how these channels are used by businesses.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, printers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. Should be able to lift full boxes of marketing materials and other materials weighing 40lbs or less. This position requires walking, sitting, bending, stooping, or standing as necessary.
