Purpose: To provide direct services and coordinate services, resources to assist individuals in jail and criminal justice system identified as target population for Labette County, and to support crisis stabilization and recovery goals.

1. Training/Knowledge

a. Timely completion of agency required trainings

b. Participates and follows EBP trainings

c. Maintaining continuing education for licensure/certification

d. Maintains and promotes a safe work environment.

2. Job Specific Skills

a. Meets annual productivity standards

c. Providing emergency services

d. Screen and assess clients for agency services

e. Provide assistance in the formulation of treatment plans

f. Represent clients and agency at staffing, court hearings, and with court supervision services

g. Provide coordination of health care needs with primary care physicians/clinics/nurses for referral and integration of care.

h. Provide assistance to clients of benefits applications with area resources; including KanCare, disability, supported housing, local service agencies

i. Utilization of EBP case management tools

Environment/Physical Demands: Normal office environment working somewhat close to others when sharing office space. Occasional exposure to noisy or distracting environments. Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions. Frequent work in non-traditional settings including but not limited to homes, community agencies, and law enforcement facilities. Occasional transportation of a consumer. Possible exposure to aggressive or violent consumers. Occasional bending, stretching or lifting. High stress conditions for long periods of time. Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Frequent work in client’s homes, local jails, and community, requiring travel throughout Labette County and surrounding areas.

Qualifications: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Human Services related field. Social work degree and knowledge of the criminal justice system preferred. Must hold a valid KS Drivers License. Must be able to pass background checks: child/adult abuse registries, KBI, motor vehicle, excluded parties reports and national offender registries as well as drug/alcohol testing.

Supervision:Supervision of this position is provided by corresponding department CSS Director.

Represents Labette Center in a professional manner while projecting a positive and service oriented attitude to community partners and co-workers. Is able to adapt to changing needs as evidenced by meeting established deadlines, following through on tasks, and meeting established goals. Adheres to ethical standards set by the Agency, profession and State. Demonstrates courtesy and respect in all relationships. Promotes an attitude throughout the agency of cooperation what is best for LCMHS as a “whole” and not just as a staff unit or program. Promotes a positive and constructive “we can” attitude with new initiatives, requirements and/or change. Maintain ethical standards regarding confidentiality of consumers and not breeching that “trust”.
