COMMUNITY RESOURCES ADVISOR

POSITION TITLE: Community Resources Advisor, Jasper & Newton Counties

REPORTS TO: Level Up Program Director

ACCOUNTABLITY: Community Impact Team

STATUS: Full-time 40 hours /week, exempt, benefits (paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, life insurance, retirement and more)

WORK STYLE: In person- may include up to 20 % local travel, some weekend and evening hours may be required to meet clients. Must have proof of car insurance.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Resource Advisor will support Jasper and Newton counties residents struggling with a path to long-term financial stability by connecting and guiding them to community services that will meet their needs. The advisor will assess client needs, refer clients to existing community and United Way services and track engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work one-on-one with clients to assess their needs and assist them in locating and applying for services. Refer clients and guide them through application processes as needed.
• Track all client engagement in case management system including assessments, daily touchpoints, assistance given and goals.
• Assess client qualifications to be recommended to United Way Level Up program.
• Identify and establish relationships with key community organizations and service providers to ensure resident assistance is expediated quickly.
• Work with partner network team to ensure local organizations and services are accurately represented in online resource directory and case management system.
• As needed or assigned:
• Participate in community events to network, educate and build consensus.
• Provide financial fitness training and education.
• Other duties based on clients and program needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Social work background preferred.
• Previous experience in a client-facing or customer service role.
• Problem solving & critical thinking skills; ability to handle ambiguity and uncertainty.
• Establish strong internal and external relationships.
• The ability to work independently and self-manage
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, online meeting platforms (i.e., Zoom) and web platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-focused, strong cross-functional project management skills, and time-management skills.
• Desire to continually learn and improve and the ability to provide and accept feedback.
• Preferred:
• Experience in financial coaching, banking, asset development and/or a related economic development field.
• Possess a working knowledge of service providers, including State, Federal and Local assistance.
• Knowledge of Jasper and Newton counties and their unique characteristics, demographics & needs.
• Established relationships with communities and/or community stakeholders.
• Experience in Charity Tracker or Resource Round up software.
