Compensation Manager Job at Wurth Industry North America
Position Overview:
The Compensation Manager is a new addition to Wurth Industries Human Resources leadership team and will have the unique opportunity manage compensation programs for our leaders and employees throughout the U.S. The Compensation Manager will be a collaborative thought partner interacting with the HR and Finance teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
The role will effectively administer and report on compensation programs such as merit planning, variable pay administration, and job description development. The role will also collaborate with senior management and external compensation consultants to continuously improve system and process design initiatives. The Compensation Manager will advise on complex compensation matters with data-driven research and develop solutions that are strategically aligned to business goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBITLIES include the following and all other duties assigned:
- Manages the assessment, measurement, and administration of companywide compensation programs for 2000+ employees across the U.S.
- Act as a compensation business partner, strategic solution provider and advisor to business and people leaders by combining in-depth knowledge of compensation principles, understanding of the business and market landscape
- Perform proactive data analytics to support various compensation assessments initiatives and provide recommendations to HR and business leadership
- Manage compensation programs such as merit planning, variable pay administration
- Experience providing job mapping and job leveling guidance to HR and business leaders.
- Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
- Provides advice to corporate staff and leadership including Finance on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
- Builds trusted advisor relationships with leaders across multiple businesses.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to design creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans that are market relevant and incentivize desired outcomes.
- Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting results-based data.
- Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field and 6 years of progressively responsible experience in employee compensation
- Demonstrated partnership with HR, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders in managing compensation programs
- Proactive data analytics and data-driven research to support or advise various compensation assessments initiatives and provide recommendations to HR and business leadership.
- Management of compensation programs such as merit planning, variable pay administration, equity nomination and/or distribution processes.
- Experience providing job mapping and job leveling guidance to HR and business leaders.
- Certified Compensation Professional credentials preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, with strong Excel skills (focusing on V-Lookup, pivot tables and macros).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management
