The Compliance Specialist will possess the knowledge and expertise to effectively assess the compliance for EPIC services and funding sources.
The Compliance Specialist will assist in the development and deployment of an internal compliance auditing and monitoring program to assure that EPIC programs are fully compliant with relevant legal, regulatory and grant requirements. This position will conduct risk assessments and internal audits to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls designed to ensure that processes and practices lead to appropriate execution of all requirements and guidelines and will offer recommendations for mediation and correction as necessary. This specialist will serve as a subject matter expert and resource on interpretation and application of relevant data and trending, and provide education and guidance as needed. Gathering and reviewing data including client records, identifying trends, and reporting results to program leadership and the Organizational Excellence Department will be included.

Position Requirements
• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in healthcare or business; or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of Ryan White and other grant funding, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, 340B Pharmaceuticals, Health Department, Careware, Third Party Administrators and HIPAA privacy and security rules.
- Experience in auditing and/or utilization review for compliance with regulations and/or grant fund programs. Specific experience with Ryan White grants preferred.
- Attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to understand and effectively apply relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate complex and potentially sensitive issues to all levels of leadership.
- Able to react promptly and efficiently to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Able to commute to all EPIC locations.
- Computer skills: Excel and Word preferred.
- Understand statistical and informatics principals to effectively develop and produce audit plans.
