The Senior Computer Operations Specialist (Full Time- Hybrid Remote) maintains computing systems to ensure availability. Runs Symitar jobs and programs. Creates reports, prints, and distributes daily. Assists users as needed. Monitors computer system, disk drives and communication lines. Conducts daily system backups and is responsible for handling of complex issues.

The hourly pay range for this position is $27.87-$41.80 depending on experience, skills, education and internal equity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains current knowledge of computer technology and suggests new types of equipment or operational methods.
  • Assists in designing the computing infrastructure and provides technical assistance and consulting to users.
  • Coordinates installation and maintenance of data center equipment and systems.
  • Assist in deploying new servers and clients, maintain each systems and respective services.
  • Assists in the development, testing and administration of business continuity or disaster recovery plan.
  • Identify and solve computer and system related problems.
  • Maintains accurate records of equipment utilization.
  • Participates in the maintenance and patching of all computer equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and restores routine technical service and peripheral equipment.
  • Schedules production runs.
  • Assist in disaster recovery tests.
  • Ensure that all IRS, audit, and other information is sent to necessary agencies.
  • Monitors all electronic services (ATM, Audio Response, CU-Online, etc).
  • Process systems back-up files.
  • Submits batch jobs for processing and check for errors and completion.
  • Monitor network communication lines.
  • Documents when data processing jobs are properly completed.
  • Maintains control and access to computer equipment and data.
  • Cleans and inspect computer room and hardware according to established schedule.
  • Initializes computer system for each program in accordance with operating instructions.
  • Identifies data processing exceptions and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Ensures all daily jobs are completed according to established procedure.
  • Controls the integrity of all data files.
  • Distributes computer generated reports, files, and emails.
  • Runs end-of-day programs.
  • Logs all malfunctions of computer system and peripheral equipment.
  • Maintains updated data processing manuals and documentation.
  • Performs system backups.
  • Sets up and runs computer reports; set up and receive share drafts.
  • Assists in solving malfunctions of system hardware and software.
  • Sets up and transmits VISA, ATM, and all other files to appropriate processors.
  • Trains other computer operators in the operation of computers, peripheral equipment, and off-line auxiliary equipment.
  • Assists programmers and systems analysts in running jobs that are used for testing and debugging new programs.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Ability):

  • 5 - 7 years experience as a computer operator in a Financial Institution.
  • Experience with core system processing, automation & hardware implementations.
  • Experience as an operator with Symitar Episys and SMA OpCon is preferred.
  • Experience in handling complex issues and problems.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • AA degree in a computer related field preferred.
  • Background in Symitar system preferred
  • Knowledge of main-frame/server operations and production.
  • Knowledge of job file scheduling in a production environment.
  • Should have knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook; internet browsers.
