RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.

ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world’s premier systems. Our work with the U.S. Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.

Background Information:

This full-time position will serve as a member of the Range Data Control System software development team within the Range Systems Branch’s Range Display Systems at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. This position will provide software engineering in support of multiple projects used by ATR.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develops software modules using C, C++, or C# software applications
• Participates with projects in the design and implementation of new capabilities
• Tracks software bugs within current software
• Responsible for documenting all work
• Works with Government’s Senior Software Developer on significant software development tasking for the team
• Travel of up to 25% of work hours as the team’s needs arise may be required

Required Education, Experience, Skills, & Certifications/Licenses:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from a school where the degree curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
• Minimum of three (3) years of work experience performing the stated or similar function
• In lieu of a BS Degree, a High School diploma or equivalent GED and a total of nine (9) years of work experience performing the stated or similar function is required
• Background in C/C++ Programming or similar Object-Oriented programming language(s)
• Experience with C#, OpenGL, JAVA, XML is a plus
• Experience with Qt
• Proven ability to work well with a team of software engineers with specifications, designs, technologies, and operational implementations of software solutions
• Able to work within a large existing code base
• General networking skills required
• Should have familiarity with SQL databases and Windows development environments (Visual Studio, etc.)
• Must have general computer maintenance skills (hardware/software installation and troubleshooting)
• NET framework skills
• Knowledge of Windows Operations Systems is required
• Should be self-motivated, able to work independently, and ask questions as needed with the ability to leverage the internet to locate resolutions to problems
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass Drug Screenings

Clearance Requirement:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance throughout employment

Work Conditions:

• Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching
• Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees
• Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus
