Basic Purpose:


The Construction Regional Manager is responsible for the company’s overall Construction business operations. This position is responsible for developing the Construction growth throughout the company’s growing footprint. The Construction Regional Manager will develop and oversee a multi-level team to support the Construction growth in our developing territories.


Nature and Scope:


This position reports to the General Operations Manager, Sudden Service, Inc. and acts as the liaison between the Construction division, and the customer.


The Construction Regional Manager is required to have a thorough knowledge of company policies and practices affecting customer service work. He/she may be required to accompany a Taylor salesperson assigned to his/her territory to visit customers in order to enhance the sale of Taylor Construction Equipment products and often serves as a consultant on customer problems, especially in making estimates on major jobs.


The incumbent in this position is required to have excellent abilities in customer relations, showing a real concern for customer problems and a willingness to extend self in solving those problems. This incumbent is also required to have administrative and managerial skills in order to supervise employees related to Taylor Construction Equipment sales.


Principal Accountabilities:


  • Oversee general Construction operations.
  • Assign yearly Taylor Construction Equipment goals to all branches.
  • Assist managers and CSRs in the pursuit of Taylor Construction Equipment’s performance goals.
  • Assist managers in evaluating the performance of Construction CSRs.
  • Develop and provide sales training for Construction CSRs. This training will be provided in sales training classes and riding along calls with the CSRs in their territories.
  • Creating and implementing strategies for Construction business growth.
  • Assist branch managers with hiring Taylor Construction Equipment staff. (TCE service managers, CSRs, TCE technicians, inside sales, coordinators)
  • Work with upper management to negotiate and secure deals with larger customers on a regional and national level.
  • Overseeing large projects and monitoring performance.
  • Work closely with CSRs and upper management to retain clients.
  • Developing new solutions to meet customer Construction equipment needs.
  • Improving internal processes for better productivity.
  • Work with vendors and provide all construction related equipment needed as the business develops.
  • Hire and develop regional construction managers.
  • Attend and work Industry tradeshows and conferences to strengthen the company brand and develop customer relationships.
  • Develop relationships with the TCE sales team. Work with the CSRs to develop those same relationships in their territories.
  • Attend weekly Teams meetings with customers and vendors to improve relationships and flow through.
  • Provide weekly reports to upper management.

Education and Skills:


  • Thorough knowledge of Taylor Construction Equipment.
  • Customer service skills must be top notch.
  • Previous experience supervising employees.
  • Computer knowledge. Efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
