Position Overview:
- The Medical Contracting and Negotiation Specialist (hereinafter referred to as “Contracting Specialist) is primarily responsible for negotiating attractive reimbursement contracts with medical providers that treat personal injury patients throughout the United States.
- Contracting Specialists are responsible for facilitating the contracting process from start to finish, including online research, provider due diligence, rate negotiations, contract legal language negotiation with the support of general counsel through to contract execution! It is not uncommon for a Contracting Specialist to have 30+ active conversations at any given time; therefore, CSs have exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- The Contracting Specialist has exceptional (i) online research and (ii) negotiating skills
- The Contracting Specialist utilizes PROVE’s internal CRM and online research tools and databases to make targeted conducting targeted phone-based outreach to medical providers that treat personal injury patients in sought after geographies and medical specialties (orthopedics, pain management, physical therapy, etc.)
- After identifying potential medical providers, the Contracting Specialist is responsible for (i) conducting due diligence (i.e., background checks, medical board disciplinary action, patient reviews, etc.) to ensure the medical practice meets our standards of excellence and (ii) negotiating attractive reimbursement rates using skilled negotiating techniques and quantitative reimbursement benchmarks.
- Additionally, as a representative of the Company that touches many prospective clients, the Contracting Specialist is expected to have exceptional customer service skills and be well versed in PROVE’s products and services, raising brand awareness and identifying sales opportunities!
- The Contracting Specialist is an integral part of the sales and operations teams, interfacing daily to ensure we have medical providers to treat patients in need. Contracting Specialists report directly to the Director of Sales Operations.
- Ideal candidates have the following knowledge and experience:
- Experience in phone based roles
- Professional negotiations experience (i.e., collections background),
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic understanding of the healthcare industry knowledge including the different types of medical specialties and facilities and medical coding / billing
Although this role is primarily a remote inside sale role, you may be asked to travel to events from time to time.
Skillset Qualifications:
- Proven track record exceeding objectives in past inside, phone-based sales roles
- Clear command for the english language and strong phone etiquette
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently throughout the day
- Experience using cloud-based CRMs (i.e., SalesForce, HubSpot)
- Strong attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
