Position: Contract Specialist
Location: Fort Belvoir, VA
Clearance: TS/SCI
Education: BA/BS Degree
Outcomes:
The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes in the first year on the position:
· Provide cradle-to-grave contracting action support for multiple Contracting Officers, in support of a wide range of customers.
· Support the Acquisition’s Office pre-award and contract management and administration activities.
· The Contract Specialist will conduct a variety of Requirements Documentations and activities including:
o Acquisition Strategy Support
o Pre-Award Documentation and Source Selection
o Solicitations
o Contract Award
o Post-Award Support
Responsibilities:
The Contract Specialist will support the Secretary of the Air Force - Concepts, Development, and Management Office (SAF/CDM). The Contract Specialist will provide document support to the Office of Acquisitions in all areas of the acquisition requirements phase; and coordinate with the Office of Acquisitions and their customers on all requirement support services. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Assist with preparing contractual documents, analysis of cost or price proposals, preparing the contract file for award, and preparing the contract file for closeout.
· Provide technical advice and assistance and prepare a variety of recurring and special reports. Research, assemble and summarize a wide variety of analytical, administrative and clerical support duties in support of the service contract management team.
· Monitor the progress of requirements with different schedules and resource allowances to identify missed project milestones or to forecast resource availability and trend analysis.
· Directly assist the service contract management team in all administrative support program functions and serve as the primary source for office automation.
· Responsible for the accuracy, formatting, preparation, review, and deposition of required administrative reports and other correspondence to include but not limited to briefing charts, talking papers, bullet background papers, Memorandums, Operational Instructions and meeting minutes as a result of the service contract management team meetings.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience performing DoD, preferably Air Force acquisition and contract support activities, including, contributing to the development of acquisition strategy through source analysis; and formulating and drafting pre-acquisition documentation.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), contract-related Instructions, and standard operating procedures required.
  • Knowledge of Air Force Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFFARS) strongly desired.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

The following qualifications are desired:
· Over 5 years of experience in Government Contracts Management.
Travel: Minimal Travel Required.
