About This Role

We are looking for a Controller who will oversee the timely monthly close of the General Ledger, consolidation and reporting of financial results, coordination of audits, the establishment and maintenance of accounting policies, including revenue recognition and the development of efficient and effective processes that also support compliance to internal controls. You will have the opportunity to lead and build out our team and processes as Monetate is spinning out from Kibo Commerce. You also will report directly into our CFO and workly closely with our C-level executives as we look to grow the Monetate brand.

What You’ll Do

• Own and manage accounting controls, financial reporting, technical accounting, tax, annual audit and lender deliverables for the company
• Oversee accounting department operations including General Ledger, AP, AR, Payroll, Tax, and Treasury
• Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes, striving to deliver process automation, improved accuracy, and higher service
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes and regulations
• Maintain accurate and timely financials that are in compliance with US GAAP standards while adhering to a tight closing calendar, as well as identifying any areas of concern in financials for investigation & resolves
• Lead the daily activities and career development of team members, including building out the team, coaching, reviewing work, establishing goals and performance management of team members as required

What You’ll Need

• 7+ years of accounting experience, with several years of experience in an accounting leadership role
• CPA certification required
• Strong and broad experience in accounting with an ability to apply GAAP knowledge to business scenarios
• Experience in SaaS environments strongly preferred
• Adept in using Intacct, NetSuite, Avalara, and Adaptive
• Communicates clearly and effectively to people at all levels of the organization
• Skilled in managing the entire order to cash lifecycle with a focus on renewals and collections
• Proven track record of success and timely performance

• Prior experience with accounting for international subsidiaries is strongly preferred
• M&A experience is a huge plus
