The State Bank Group is a community focused financial institution with 6 locations in McHenry County, Illinois. As our bank grows, our needs have changed and our finance team is seeking specific expertise to augment the department's existing talent base. As a key member of the finance & accounting team, the Controller role is responsible for overseeing the bank's financial records, reports, and accounting system. The role ensures that all bank accounting policies and procedures are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The Controller will assist the CFO with the bank's strategic functions, and provide support for managing liquidity, ALCO, the annual budget process, and monthly forecasting.

The position requires the following skills, education, and experience: ability to manage and perform complex assignments with varying degrees of priority, analyze data, and communicate across functional areas. The successful individual must maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information, have a thorough understanding of GAAP, demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Individuals should also be proficient with Microsoft's Office Suite and have familiarity with large, integrated financial reporting systems.

Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting and five or more years of related experience in banking; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate level finance education is a plus. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong analytical ability, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of initiative and dependability. Experience effectively managing and developing direct reports is required.

Pay: $92,695.00 - $101,069.00 per year
