Controls Technician Job at Swiss Krono
Purpose:
The Controls Technician is to support manufacturing by analyzing complex machine and process issues and resolving to prevent breakdowns, and maximize manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communicate effectively with production department employees to understand their issues related to the manufacturing equipment.
2. Work with maintenance planner to plan work for preventive maintenance.
3. Resolve complex issues with manufacturing equipment to include servo drives, Siemens PLC, process controls, LDR, SCL, Statement lists, FBD, and read electrical drawings.
4. Design and implementation of controls systems to maximize machine productivity and product quality.
5. Call in’s after normal hours to assist shift maintenance resolve complex issues if assistance is needed.
6. Proficiently diagnose complex machine and process issues with the equipment, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and controls.
7. Understand complete set up of critical machine settings
8. Analyze process issues and understand how to resolve by repairing or adjusting to factory OEM specifications.
9. Repair the issue in a timely manner with reasonable cost.
10. Properly charge parts to the correct work order and cost center.
11. Analyze the breakdown to understand how to prevent reoccurrence.
12. Communicate to the maintenance planner any unresolved issues to be addressed on PM.
13. Observe the operation of all equipment for issues that might cause breakdown or loss of efficiency.
Professional Experience:
1. Minimum five years experience in manufacturing maintenance.
2. Minimum five years experience with PLC controls. Siemens preferred.
3. Minimum five years experience with Servo drives, process controls.
Education and Specialized Skills Profile:
1. Minimum two year technical degree related to manufacturing controls.
2. Basic Computer skills to be able to use programs for work order and parts management.
Enviromental and Behavioral Profile:
1. Must be able to complete tasks with little or no supervision.
2. Must be able to work in environments that include high temperatures and dusty conditions.
Linguistic Profile:
Must be able to speak and read English
Mobility and Physical Requirement Profile:
1. Work location Swiss Krono, Barnwell SC.
2. Travel required for training.
3. While performing the job, the employee is regularly required to read, talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands and fingers.
4. The schedule is normally day shift Monday through Friday. Call in’s are required as necessary. Schedule will change based on rebuild schedules.
