Job Summary:
Incumbent assists in planning, preparing and serving appetizing, wholesome, and nutritious meals to children.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks at designated times.
- Report supplies needed to the Lead Cook.
- Clean kitchen equipment daily and maintain food preparation, serving and storage spaces in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Defrost refrigerators and freezers at regular intervals as instructed.
- Dispose of garbage and wastes in proper manner.
- Clean and sterilize dishes and utensils after each use.
- Report defective equipment and repair needs to the Lead Cook.
- Prepare and serve food in a sanitary manner.
- Clean dining facility after each meal prepared.
- Solicit in-kind contributions.
- Interacts pleasantly with children, as they are involved in activities related to meal serving.
- Assist in menu planning.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
- One to three months related experience and/or training.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
