Job Summary
The Coordinator of Legal Participations for Disney General Entertainment will assist in a variety of administrative and legal functions in connection with talent participation matters for ABC Signature, 20th Television, Touchstone Television, FX, Disney Channel and Freeform. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day workings of the members of the Legal Participations team. The core function of this team is to resolve all legal matters related to television production and distribution audits brought by profit participants of each series, and in doing so, this is a team that interacts closely with high level external talent representatives as well as a variety of internal departments and business units. A successful Coordinator of Legal Participations will learn and understand the substantive needs of the team as well as the corporate makeup of The Walt Disney Company and its television businesses. This position reports to the Director of Legal Participations for DGE.
Responsibilities:
- Research various TWDC databases to locate missing information that is required for audit fieldwork and/or to analyze claims contained in audit reports.
- Liaise with numerous departments, including without limitation, Studio Finance, Business Affairs and Corporate Litigation.
- Handle highly confidential, sensitive information on behalf of a publicly traded company.
- Manage execution of settlement agreements and payment obligations related thereto.
- Schedule calls and meetings (in person and zoom) internal and external – for members of the Legal Participations team.
- Handle technological aspect to all meetings and video conferences.
- Manage the team’s central databases and status reports, spanning multiple participants across multiple audits.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the television industry.
- Understanding or desire to understand contractual issues handled by studio business and legal affairs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all professional levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to multi-task deadlines and deliverables.
- Proven organizational and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in production legal or audits at/with a major television studio.
- Strong proficiency with computers and programs including Microsoft Office, SAP, Concur, BlueJeans, VTC Conferencing, NetDocuments and DocuSign.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) and/or equivalent experience
