The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Corrections Specialist 2 - Administrative Segregation at Clallam Bay Corrections Center.


Clallam Bay Corrections Center is a 900 bed male facility located on the point of the Olympic Peninsula. It is 50 miles west of Port Angeles and looks out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca at Vancouver Island. This facility houses medium and close custody offenders. CBCC also operates an Intensive Management Unit.

Duties


Duties:


  • Coordinates Administrative Segregation Hearings.
  • Ensures all hearings are held within required time frames and conducted according to the guidelines set forth in the WAC's, Department Policies, and Local Field Instructions.
  • Assists in managing incarcerated individual population threat assessment needs.
  • Ensures the necessary forms, documents and reports are completed for each incarcerated individual referral to Administrative Segregation status and all necessary paperwork is ready prior to each review.
  • Presides over multidisciplinary FRMT for the intermediate and final review for incarcerated individuals assigned to Ad-Seg status.
  • Assigns investigations to applicable staff.
  • Ensures DOC 320.200 Ad-Seg policy time frames are adhered to.
  • Acts as Chairperson of the Restrictive Housing Unit Classification Committee.
  • Reviews and evaluates program adjustments, behavior, and other information pertinent to an Offender's Behavior Management Plan, assesses an offender's suitability for release from Administrative Segregation.
  • Investigates and completes draft responses for Administrative Segregation issues, offender appeals, and offender grievances.
  • Screens Individuals for suitable housing.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Four years of professional experience in adult corrections, juvenile, law enforcement or related field.
  • One year of administrative experience in a correctional hearing unit to include processing offenders for a hearing, scheduling hearings, recording hearings, and disposition of documents after hearings.
OR
Formal education in Criminal Justice or closely allied field from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) may be substituted year for year of required experience.
