JOB DESCRIPTION
Cost Analyst

Reports to: Costing Manager

General Expectations:

The Cost Analyst will identify plant and cost department problems and will develop and implement improvement solutions. The Cost Analyst will work with plant management to determine and resolve plant processes, take a role on plant teams, and will participate in plant and cost department projects. The Cost Analyst will have a thorough knowledge of cost systems and will perform analysis of cost data to prevent and resolve production and inventory issues.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of Government laws and regulations as well as company policies and rules.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Major Objective

  • Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOM) for each model and each option produced in his/her facilities . This is accomplished by:
  • Prototyping BOM of new models and options
  • Re-audits of existing models and options
  • Inventory category audits
  • Like model comparisons

Daily Duties

1. Monitor daily production for irregularities.
2. Monitor special request forms and respond as early as possible. This will include providing cost impacts to the special request.
3. Monitor product changes and BOM adjustments
4. Create new base & option BOM’s as needed
5. Communicate all large BOM adjustments.
6. All other duties that may be required.

Weekly Duties

1. Shiploose document creation for the production team
2. Review models in the backlog to verify they have base BOM’s
3. Review BOM & Part number violations
4. Attend appropriate meetings
5. All other duties that may be required.

Monthly Duties

1. Complete the BOM accuracy review process. This will include 40-80 hours of auditing on the production line per month.

* Organize, adjust BOM, submit, upload, and review homes for re-yard that were produced for the month prior to adjusting BOM

2. Assist costing manager in any other month end duties that may be required
3. Inventory variance research & projects
4. All other duties that may be required.

Physical Inventory
It is the responsibility of the cost analyst to assist the materials manager and costing manager in preparing his/her plant for physical inventory. This process will require a late Friday and all-day Saturday at least 4 times per year. More inventories could be required based on accuracy.
Inventory days can sometimes be shifted a day earlier in the week. During inventory, the cost analyst will be responsible for calculating work in process (WIP) inventories for the entire production line at the home building facility. The cost analyst is also responsible for reviewing inventory variances to help come up with plans to become more accurate in the future.

Education and Qualifications:

1. Associates degree or equivalent experience
2. Experience with Microsoft core products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
3. Experience in manufacturing with a preference in manufactured homes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
