Creative Forces Capacity Program Coordinator Job at Civic Arts
Civic Arts seeks a
Program Coordinator to support Civic Arts’ capacity building work with the NEA’s Creative Forces initiative. We are looking for someone committed to supporting of the work of artists, arts organizations and creative arts therapists who work with military service members, veterans, and their communities.
In this role, the person will work directly with Capacity Team Director to support overall project development, and specifically to help both the Communications team and the Digital and Brand Asset team in the ongoing development of the Creative Forces National Resource Center (NRC) – a National Endowment for the Arts web resource that serves both the Creative Forces initiative, and the broader American public. Specific tasks will include working directly with the Capacity Team Director to manage broader team logistics and to help with project oversite. The Program Coordinator will also help with the development of specific project materials such as case studies and other resources that help to capture the work being done within the Creative Forces initiative. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in team environments and manage multiple smaller projects that contribute to the creation of a broader coalition of practitioners whose work touches on intersection of military communities and the arts.
About Creative Forces:
Creative Forces: NEA Military Healing Arts Network is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs that seeks to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for military and veteran populations exposed to trauma, as well as their families and caregivers. The program places creative arts therapies at the core of patient-centered care at clinical sites throughout the county, including telehealth services, and increases access to community arts activities to promote health, well-being and quality of life for military service members, veterans, and their families and caregivers. Creative Forces is managed in partnership with Americans for the Arts, Civic Arts, the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, and Mid-America Arts Alliance.
Civic Arts, in partnership with Flannel and Blade as the communications lead, and Hyperakt as the brand and web development lead, is leading the capacity-building efforts of the Creative Forces initiative. These efforts include the development of toolkits, training materials, and other resources to support best practices in serving the target populations. In addition, Civic Arts is helping to distribute information to the wider public about on the impacts and benefits of work happening within the initiative. Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Capacity Program Oversight and Cross-Team Communications (~20%)
- Assist the Director of the Capacity Team in the monitoring of the team’s internal community of practice project logic model, and in the communication of insights to the larger Creative Forces team.
- Maintain Capacity Team’s communications through Microsoft Teams and other project management software.
- Assist in cross-team strategy development sessions with the Communications team and the Digital and Brand Asset team, and maintain cross-team communication on collaborative goals.
Case Study and Project Resource Development (~40%)
- Support the larger Capacity Team in the creation and production of qualitative case studies that highlight the work happening within the Creative Forces program.
- Work with both the Communications Team and the Digital and Brand Asset Team to communicate about case study insights on the National Resource Center (NRC).
- Work with the larger Capacity Team to identify additional resource opportunities and help develop specific project plans for their creation.
Program Administration (~40%)
Work with Director of the Capacity Team to:
- maintain regularly updated, detailed, and accurate records of all Capacity team activities;
- help maintain fiscal oversight of the Capacity Team’s work and to help create monitoring systems for budgets, process contract payments and expense reimbursements that are part of the project;
- create financial status reports for internal and external use;
- assist with the management of RFP bid processes for different project vendors;
- help with the creation of contracts with outside vendors including tracking, reviewing, and editing deliverables, and establishing, monitoring and updating production schedules and timelines, and reporting delays and changes to the production schedule;
- support the creation of create summary reports of Capacity Team progress for internal and external audiences.
Qualifications
Successful candidates for this position will demonstrate all or most of the following:
- The ability to work across broad cross-disciplinary teams
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite products, Microsoft products, and other project management software.
- Experience with project management and administration.
- Familiarity with qualitative research methods.
- The ability to communicate effectively in written, and oral formats and for diverse audiences, and with various backgrounds.
- Strong editorial skills .
- Strong organizational skills, particularly the ability to keep track of and prioritize multiple projects and requests.
- An ability to manage personal responsibilities for multiple projects happening simultaneously.
- An ability to work both independently and with project partners and management staff to ensure project work is completed on time and on budget.
- Commitment to advancing equity throughout various aspects of project work.
Preferred:
- Experience working with diverse communities that bring together multiple perspectives across a wide range of viewpoints.
- Experience with the arts and/or arts organization.
- Understanding of military service members, veterans, and their communities.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary ranges from $63,000 - $73,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position. Civic Arts offers employee benefits as well as a flexible, supportive, and family-friendly work environment and a commitment to continued professional development.
