Depending on experience and qualifications, cases can range from Class B Misdemeanors all the way to 1st Degree Felonies. Travis County utlizes a Managed Assigned Counsel program, the Capital Area Private Defender Service, which applicants can learn more about on our website, capds.org. Through this program, attorneys are able to seek resources for investigators, social workers and mitigation specialists, experts, Padilla immigration advisals, and case support and staffing with experienced lawyers. Attorneys are able to determine how many assignments they wish to take, and Travis County provides a competitive fee structure which can be found in the Travis County Fair Defense Plan.
