Summary
This position is accountable and responsible for performing continuous and comprehensible clinical management of adult and geriatric patients in the physician’s offices and/or assisted living and skilled nursing home facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Currently licensed to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Valid driver’s license, proof of motor vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other science-related program.
Master’s, post-Master’s and/or Doctorate in nursing with concentration in adult, family or gerontological nurse practitioner.
National certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in field of concentration.
Two years of previous experience as a nurse practitioner in ambulatory, acute and/or long term care setting.
Approval for prescriptive authority privileges in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Performs history and physical examinations as indicated by patient’s condition; orders diagnostic studies indicated by the findings in the history and physical exam.
Develops and institutes a plan of care according to the recognized standards of care and department protocols.
Identifies the need for consultation with medical, rehabilitative, psychosocial, and other support services, which may lead to referral.
Supports, develops, and participates in educational activities that promote the development of peers and self.
Follows accepted medical standards for prescribing medications and policies for the dispensing of sample medications.
