CSI Instructional Coach

In conjunction with the Continuous School Improvement process, STEM Academy has implemented various programs aimed at accelerating student achievement and meeting the school’s identified school CSI goals. The CSI Instructional Coach is a lead teacher who spearheads the teams and initiatives included in the CSI Plan. Roles and responsibilities of the CSI Instructional Coach are detailed in the 2022-23 STEM Academy CSI Plan, and include:

• Working closely with Building and District Leadership, as well as School Improvement Facilitator to implement and monitor the 2022-23 STEM Academy CSI Plan
• Working closely with Building and District Leadership, as well as School Improvement Facilitator to develop the 2023-24 STEM Academy CSI Plan
• Training and coaching teachers on CSI instructional priorities in Mathematics and English Language Arts
• Analyzing assessment data and coaching teachers on using data to drive instruction
• Coaching teachers on utilization of Building and District instructional priorities, as well as fundamental instructional practices
• Collaborating with PLC Team Leaders to identify students in need of academic, behavioral and attendance supports; assigning interventions for those students; and progress monitoring
• Planning and delivering Professional Development for teachers
• PBIS Team Leader
• Providing teachers with support and guidance on proper use of instructional technology in the classroom
• Coordinating with vendors, CUSD Technology Department, and STEM Academy teachers to ensure effective utilization of digital learning platforms

The CSI Instructional Coach also works with STEM Academy and CUSD administration to conduct required ongoing assessment of the 2022-23 CSI Plan, and to develop the 2023-24 CSI Plan. Duties associated with this role include:

• Preparing presentations for school stakeholders to communicate key aspects of the plan
• Surveying students, teachers, and families to compile feedback on implementation of the plan
• Compiling data for Bi-weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly CSI meetings in order to mark progress toward goals
• Working closely with Delaware County Intermediate Unit to coordinate ongoing support of CSI Plan implementation

In addition to the roles and responsibilities outlined above, the CSI Instructional Coach may be assigned duties by the Building Principal that support successful instructional and operational management of STEM Academy.
