Overview
The Culinary Lead Instructor ensures that CulinaryLab’s classes are consistently taught with high standards, focusing on creating the highest possible value for students. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of ongoing growth and innovation that aligns with that of top modern kitchens. The role supports our Education team creating strong positive outcomes within the scope of their daily work.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, supervising, and supporting faculty to develop and oversee key programming, such as Professional Diploma/Certificate Programs, Home Cook Classes, Modules, Entrepreneurship Courses, Events Classes and Online Programming
- Act as an advocate for students and faculty, taking their concerns to the Education Team Leader to find a resolution.
- Conduct in-class faculty observations of culinary chef instructors in kitchen classes.
- Assist in onboarding and training instructors. Help to improve evolving training systems for new and current instructors.
- Continue development of our hiring processes and maintain hiring responsibilities for chef instructors as needed.
- Teach kitchen classes, modules, online classes and events when needed.
- Assist in researching and developing CulinaryLab recipes and curriculum.
Knowledge | Skills | Abilities
- Must have a minimum of 3 year of formal teaching experience. Online teaching experience a bonus.
- 5 years of kitchen experience managing a team
- A strong understanding of classroom management
- A wide range of Culinary knowledge
- Proficient admin skills and tech-savvy
- Strong leadership skills
- Professionalism, diplomacy, and patience
Compensation | Benefits
- $65K-$80K annually
- Medical and dental coverage
- 10 days PTO and 12 holidays

Schedule | Location
- 45-50 hours per week
- Monday through Friday with some weekends
- Based in both Downtown Santa Ana and North Tustin
