Culinary Teacher- Mainland High School Job at VOLUSIA COUNTY SCHOOLS
The purpose of this course is to assist students in making informed decisions regarding their future academic and occupational goals and to provide information regarding careers in the Hospitality & Tourism career cluster. The content includes but is not limited to the development of leadership skills, communication skills, and employability skills; resource management; exploration of careers in the culinary field; the importance of health and safety in the culinary environment; and the use of technology in culinary-related careers. Instruction and learning activities are provided in a laboratory setting using hands-on experiences with the equipment, materials and technology appropriate to the course content and in accordance with current .practices.
- The certifications for the course Fundamentals of Culinary Careers are as follows:
- FL STATE/Family & Consumer Sciences; or
IN DISTRICT/Culinary 7G (verified by work experience in area of the teaching assignment
This position will serve students 9-12 in Volusia County Schools. To work diligently and conscientiously in the role of instructional personnel to help students meet or exceed annual learning goals, to meet state and local achievement requirements, and to master the skills required to graduate from high school prepared for postsecondary education and work (FS 1012.53)
- Bachelor’s Degree in an educational field or the equivalent as defined by Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 6A-1.0503
- Hold or is eligible to hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate or equivalent as defined by FAC 6A-1.0503
