General Description

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Operations Manager, the Customer Service Expeditor/Champion will be the main liaison between customer service, sales, shipping, purchasing, and manufacturing focusing solely on tracking and communicating customer SO and M jobs through MFG and Shipping to ensure BCT transparency and coordination as well as on time delivery. The CSC will also be the main coordinator for Customer service and manufacturing on rush orders, manufacturing lead times, and ensuring costing information is quickly and clearly communicated back to customer service. BCT is seeking a motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Monitor the sales order backlog. Communicate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service and Shipping to meet customer requirements.

2. Working closely with Manufacturing Operations and Scheduling, this position will provide expected lead times to various groups for expedited orders.

3. Track work orders through the shop and assist shop personnel in locating needed parts if needed.

4. Be the contact for following hot orders through the shop and communicate needs in an organized way.

5. Assist with closing out work orders and checking that all material is issued.

6. Consistently communicating changes to shop personnel and update work order packets if needed.

7. Assist department manager with other tasks as needed.

Education and/or Experience

· Associates degree or equivalent work experience.

· Experience in an ERP system with processing work orders from creation through completion.

· Able to transfer information from ERP system to Excel spreadsheet.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in an office environment, with work that will occasionally take them out to the shop floor. While performing the duties of this job out in the shop, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. When in the shop the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the shop is sometimes loud enough to require hearing protection.
