Summary & Responsibilities:

Working as a Customer Service Representative for DAK Americas, you will be the valuable link between our company and our customers. Our CSR’s must be highly motivated, dependable, excel with verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work independently and gracefully under pressure. The ability to build positive, professional relationships with our customers is a must to help us maintain our position as an industry leader. This position reports to the Customer Service Supervisor and will interact with plant operations, quality assurance, procurement, and our sales team. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

The location of this position is flexible for placement in either our Cedar Creek, NC or Pearl River, MS sites and is open to applicants in the Fayetteville and Bay St Louis areas.

  • Own the order fulfillment process from purchase order to invoice in coordination of certain logistics responsibilities with other DAK resources.
  • Research and consult with other departments regarding customer service problems or issues.
  • Negotiate with customer the best timing for product shipment as determined by production and costs.
  • Determine the most cost effective and efficient means of shipment and release the product accordingly.
  • Provide product information to customers, which may lead to additional sales and customer loyalty.
  • Support inventory control processes.
  • Utilize SAP for the following functions:
    • Entering and processing orders in SAP.
    • Preparing paperwork necessary for shipping (BOL, COA, etc.).
    • Monitoring inventory availability.
    • Assigning available inventory to shipments.
    • Processing customer returns.
    • Adjusting inventories for shipments and physical counts
  • Working with DAK Americas Procurement and Carriers as follows:
    • Determining when Carriers/Transloaders will be needed.
    • Determining the appropriate Carrier that will best meet the customer’s requirements in the requested time frame.
    • Communicating order details and shipping requirements to Carriers, etc.
  • Work with DAK Americas Supply Chain in determining shipment source and priorities

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in related field plus 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment OR 5-10 years customer service experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of importing and exporting goods
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Experience with truck and rail is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and partner with team members effectively
  • Results oriented. Ability to translate key area and business needs into the right priorities and action
  • Flexible, with the ability to work under pressure and in different areas while maintaining a positive/professional attitude.
  • Ability to foster customer loyalty
  • Excellent communications skills through face-to-face meetings, email and phone calls.
  • Must be dedicated and committed to working in a safe manner.
  • Previous inventory management experience is a plus
  • Experience with Trade Problem Reports and BOL a plus
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word)
  • SAP experience is preferred.
