Description/Job Summary
- Comply with all written and verbal safety rules, using personal protective equipment in accordance with department and plant safety plan
- Operate core cutting equipment in accordance with established operating instructions and / or guidelines
- Ensure that slitting and metalizing machines are supplied with cores in a timely manner to prevent unnecessary downtime
- Demonstrate good planning skills to forecast and provide core needs for extended periods, i.e. 12 - 24 hours
- Assist packers when time permits to ensure efficient flow of finished goods to warehouse
- Any other duties as deemed necessary by Staff Coordinator / Staff Engineer
- Overtime as required by Supervisor
- This position may require call - in during off hours to meet unexpected core needs
- Able to load and unload core trucks, and stage cores in core area
- Attends site safety training
- Comply with plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices
- Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as require.
- Able to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace
Preferred Skills
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Good math aptitude
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read tape measure in 16th of an inch
Preferred Education
- High school graduate or equivalent
