Data Analyst
Department: Information Technology Services
Hours: 40 hrs per week
Status: Full-time Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Institutional Research, Business Analysis and Implementation
Job Duties
-
Identify needs and/or collect and prepare data deliverables necessary for decision-making and other institutional effectiveness functions, including: state and federal reports; maintaining a common data set for the institution; accreditation; institutional factbook; ad hoc reports; statistical data for public disclosure; and, internal surveys. -
Creating a strong self-service functionality for institutional stakeholders by partnering with the other ITS staff and domain experts to develop dashboards.

Oversee and respond to data requests and produce data to fulfill internal/external requests in a timely manner and with attention to detail and accuracy.

Collaborate with other ITS staff on data warehousing and data integrity.

Participate in higher education and IR professional organizations and keep abreast of national, state and local educational issues.

Perform quantitative analysis through statistical software and qualitative analysis.

Plan, design, and conduct research studies independently and in consultation with the Chief Academic Officer, Chief Technology Office, Accreditation Liaison Officer, and the Director of Institutional Research, Business Analysis and Implementation.

Identify relevant best practices and evidence-based practices used in higher education and apply knowledge gained from these sources.

Provide institutional research support for grant applications and the development of research studies if funds are conferred. Prepare technical reports, documents, and/or records as needed.

Create visualizations as necessary to communicate complex information in a digestible format to diverse audiences

Develop methods for data collection to track outcomes, targets, and performance indicators as necessary to support institutional goal setting and performance monitoring.

Analyze survey results, both those created internally as well as the results of external surveys, such as those performed by ATS. Create summaries that are relevant to Fuller at different levels and provide actionable recommendations based on the data.

Support the state authorization and accreditation processes through data collection and analysis.

Use and support survey platforms such as Qualtrics and Google Forms.
Skills

Statistical skills and familiarity with statistical software packages is required -
Must be adept at preparing data visualizations and deliverables

Must exhibit strong project management skills

Investigative data analysis - Must be proactive in assessing future data needs/must be able to independently assess future data needs

Must be able to present results coherently, concisely, and in a manner that is appropriate to the audience

Requires strong ability to follow through with tasks with minimal supervision

Must possess an appreciation for the handling of sensitive data and utilize sound judgment when disseminating results.

Must possess the ability to work effectively in culturally diverse teams.

Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Cognos or Tableau is desired

Programming experience or willingness to learn common data analysis languages such as Python is desired

Basic understanding of SQL is desired

Pay Scale
Wage range the Seminary expects to pay: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour USD.
