Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced data engineer to join our team. You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems. Overall, you’ll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.

To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of learning machine methods.

Responsibilities:
  • Gathers and processes raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using batch and real-time data processing frameworks.
  • Ensures data quality and implements tools and frameworks for automating the identification of data quality issues.
  • Work with internal and external data providers on data validation providing feedback and making customized changes to data feeds and data mappings.
  • Understands the challenges that the analytics organization faces in their day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable data solutions.
  • Recommends improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team and reduce technical debt.
  • Implements and optimizes data solutions in enterprise data warehouses and big data repositories.
  • Installs, maintains, monitors, and supports business intelligence, distributed computation, and big data analytics tools.
  • Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.
  • Actively participates in the engineering community, staying up to date on new data technologies and best practices and shares insights with others in the organization.
  • Other duties as needed or required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience
  • Must be comfortable navigating large, complex, and possibly disparate data sets and transforming and/or joining from those sets using SQL.
  • Must have expertise with writing SQL queries from scratch or altering existing code.
  • Must have working experience using Power BI
  • Must be able to learn and use digital analytics technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Self-directed, driven, and enthusiastic
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working experience in building data warehouse ETL tools, SQL Server, SSIS preferred
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Manhattan, Microsoft Data Lake, and PowerBI Sentinel is plus
  • Statistical programming language experience (SAS, R, Python, etc.)
  • Strong analytical mind set - masterful with excel and experienced in analyzing performance and sales data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Desired to have experience with retail data and an understanding of weekly, monthly, and annual sales reporting Metrics and Analytics
  • Strong team building skills with demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements.
