Description:
Position Overview: The Meal Delivery Driver is responsible for accurately delivering meals and other items to Meals On Wheels recipients throughout Tarrant County.
Paid As: Hourly, Non-Exempt Part-Time Employee
Hours of Operation: 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM Monday – Friday
Report To: Vice President Volunteer Services
AGENCY EXPECTATION OF EMPLOYEE
- Maintain confidentiality of client, donor, volunteer, staff and board information
- Support the mission, vision and goals of Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
- Represent Meals On Wheels in a professional manner at all times
- Must have dependable transportation, valid driver license and personal vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas
- Required to pass criminal background check and have a free and clear MVR
- Assist with meal delivery when volunteer callouts make it necessary for staff to deliver
- Contribute to other projects when necessary
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
- Maintain safe driving habits at all times and cleanliness of your vehicle
- Organize workload for maximum efficiency
- Maintain proper food temperature for all items
- Able to lift, load, unload, climb and carry 40 pounds
- Must be able to walk and carry boxes and bags of food and supplies
- Report to work punctually
- Call clients if you will miss or will be late for routine deliveries
- Complete and turn in required reports
- Notify Vice President Volunteer Services immediately if there are issues or an accident involving your vehicle
- Other duties as assigned by VP Volunteer Services
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 21 years of age
REQUIREMENTS
- Communicate effectively with clients and staff
- Reliable transportation with valid vehicle insurance coverage
- Maintain and provide a valid driver license with good driving record
- Pass agency background check and personal insurance verification
- Must have an active, working cell phone
- Able to lift and carry objects of 25 pounds
- Physically able to reach, stretch, bend and sit for several hours at a time
EXPERIENCE
- Relevant experience or knowledge and skills preferred
