Position: Demand Planner

Onsite location Salt Lake City

KEVIN.MURPHY is a manufacturer of high-end salon professional products, distributed in 62 countries worldwide. We are looking for a full-time demand planner to join the KEVIN.MURPHY Global Supply Chain team. The candidate will be professional, highly analytical and possess excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will also have an in-depth knowledge of advanced mathematical and forecasting methods.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the appropriate level of demand is forecasted for all regions worldwide by driving the monthly demand review process with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance teams. The successful candidate will have experience in creating and maintaining item level shipment forecasts that reflect the latest trends of the business and accounting for special programs or events that would have an impact on future forecasts. He/she will lead collaborative meetings across the organization and will work with all to ensure appropriate levels of inventory.

Essential Functions:

· Develop a 12 to 18 month rolling forecasts

· Review historical internal and external data, generate and prepare a consensus forecast based on internal inputs, industry and market trends, and validate the results with Sales and Global Marketing on a monthly basis

· Coordinate the forecasting of new product introductions, product discontinuations, version changes, promotions, product lines

· Provide input in developing sales strategies on existing, new and promotional products, in addition to exit strategies

· Align forecast vs. business plan projections to develop the most accurate demand signal for the supply chain

· Measure forecast error and identify root causes for forecast error

· Develop analyses and reporting to help the business understand demand trends as needed to insure product availability at optimal inventory levels

· Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning

· Partner with IT and key stakeholders to improve the current forecasting system and reports as needed

· Actively participate in Microsoft Dynamics enhancements and potential forecasting system implementation

· Actively participate in Sales & Operations Planning implementation

· Challenge forecast assumptions provided by Sales/Marketing based on historical data

· Prepare presentations and organise meetings to facilitate S&OP process.

· Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (i.e. Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Finance)

· 4+ years demand planning or forecasting experience in a fast-paced company

· APICS or other forecasting certification preferred

· Previous experience within a global organisation

· Experience in beauty or haircare industry preferred.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

· Knowledge of ERP/MRP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics (preferred)

· ADVANCED excel skills

· Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, predictive modeling and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts

· Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel

· Strong analytical skills

· Strong communication and presentation skills

· Ability to influence decision-making and work effectively in a collaborative team environment

· Ability to be self-motivated and show initiative

· Ability to work in an environment where priorities change rapidly and tight deadlines exist

  • Have a natural ability to translate data and are great at multi tasking
  • Should have knowledge and experience in running S&OP processes

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
