Job Responsibilities:
As an orthodontic assistant, you will develop skills that will lead to a life-long career. To do this, you will have to have a great chair side manner and great attitude. You will be doing a variety of tasks to assist the orthodontist, such as taking impressions, changing wires in braces, checkups and orthodontist appliance adjustments. However, your ultimate goal is to build relationships with your patients and give each patient the dream smile they always wanted.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Complete opening procedures for the office as listed on Morning Start Up Sheet
- Ensuring all patients are treated with courtesy and respect at each and every visit
- Manage a fast-paced patient schedule
- Greet and seat patients according to patient flow
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following OSHA standards
- Understands and practices infection control policies/practices
- Appropriately handles and disposes of sharps
- Prepare instruments and tray setups for procedures
- Prep and complete orthodontic procedure(s) needed for each individual patient such as
- Records
- Adjustments
- Fitting bands
- Bonding
- Impressions
- Appliance deliveries
- ITero Scans
- Record medical and dental histories of patient in electronic chart
- Provide instruction prescribed and directed by doctor to the patient and/or parent
- Provide educational instruction and supplies for patient self care and hygiene
- Record detailed notes and treatment information in patient’s electronic records
- Complete wet lab tasks such as pour ups, model trimming and clear retainer fabrication
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies/notify Vicky when orders need to be made/restock inventory supplies
- Maintain inventory of fact sheets, comfort kits, McMoney kits and new patient kits and debond gifts
- Perform side work as needed according to “To Do” lists when time in between scheduled patients
- Send positive correspondence to patients weekly via email, Patient Rewards Hub, phone call or mail
- Communicate with team members via phone, Skype and/or email as needed
- Perform Administrative work as individually assigned
- Promote office happenings such as events, contests, give-a-ways
- Support strategic local marketing initiatives that help drive brand awareness and new patient growth
- Follow office closing procedures according to the closing checklist
- At all times, you will perform and undertake other duties and responsibilities as requested of you by the Office Manager, Clinical Supervisor or Doctor(s)
Physical requirements and work environment:
- Performs work required in the clinical setting
- Ability to frequently grasp instruments for deviation and repetition of both hand and wrist movements
- Ability to perform both fine and gross motor skills
- Ability to sit, stand and walk frequently throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50lbs.
Patient Hours
Monday 9:30a-6:30p, Tuesday 8:30a-5p, Wednesday 8:30a-5:30p, Thursday7:30a-4:30p, Friday 9a-1p (2x per month-as assigned)
Expected arrival time: Daily arrival is 30 minutes prior to patient start time listed above.
All employees are expected to travel and work in all three of our office locations: Oxford & Jennersville (West Grove), PA and North East, MD.

Currently, masks are optional in the waiting room of our practice. ALL persons entering the clinical area must be masked. Our team is required to wear masks while in the office.
