Deposit Operations Specialist Job at Ixonia Bank
Principal Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Perform bookkeeping duties including posting, balancing, and reconciling deposit related transactions and filing deposit related records.
- Provide phone customer service to retail customers and bank employees pertaining to deposit related banking operations and electronic banking products.
- Assist with error and problem resolution.
- Perform report printing duties and deliver reports to internal departments. Prepare customer notices and statements for mailing.
- Verify / audit various reports. Monitor official checks for signing limits of bank employees.
- Reconcile official check general ledger accounts.
- Process corrections and returns of non-posted transactions and finalize overdraft decisions in system software. Print and send customer notices.
- Operate image scanning equipment and process qualified returned deposit items and deposited foreign checks.
- Complete consumer credit verifications and verifications of deposit.
- Perform system data entry and file maintenance on customer accounts as needed.
- Sort and deliver mail and interoffice correspondence as required.
- Review and reconcile incoming and outgoing wire transactions and maintain master wire log.
- Perform various audit duties including review of posted entries, new debit card account information and system file maintenance for accuracy.
- Perform deposit document scanning duties.
- Perform research requested by internal departments and external agencies.
- File and maintain records of returned-undeliverable mail.
- Provide coverage for a variety of Deposit Operations / Customer Solutions duties upon request as department needs demand.
- Prepare special reports and perform special tasks and duties upon request.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (Competencies)
- Possess good computer skills and knowledge of basic Windows and MicroSoft Office products
- Knowledge of back-room item processing and banking operations
- Knowledge of image scanning proof operations
- Knowledge of ATM/Debit Card processing
- Knowledge of electronic banking products
- Knowledge of Fiserv data processing
- Knowledge of the ACH (Automated Clearing House) system and item processing
- Accounting background, knowledge and experience, preferred
- Detail oriented and team player
- Ability to exhibit an understanding of, and compliance with, applicable federal and state banking laws and regulations pertaining to deposit related banking operations, and/or have and obtain the ability to acquire, as a prerequisite position.
- Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence in a professional manner. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills - Basic computer skills required.
- Customer Service Skills - Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs.
- Interpersonal Skills - Maintains confidentiality.
- Oral Communication - Speaks clearly, persuasively and courteously in positive or negative situations.

- Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
- Knowledge and experience level of Ixonia Bank’s products, new accounts, checking and savings, certificates of deposit and safe deposit box procedures.
Experience
Preferred- High School diploma and/or general education degree (GED). At least one (1) to (2) year(s) of accounting experience preferred, CSR I and/or, bank operations experience preferred. Knowledge of Ixonia Bank products preferred.
