Key Responsibilities:

• Function as a technical specialist or lead in substation design, covering distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission level voltage classes.
• Develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to complex engineering problems.
• Provide technical guidance, supervise engineering staff, and lead other engineers while directly interfacing with clients.
• Utilize Bluebeam for QA checks and design of high voltage substation drawings, including schematics, wiring, one-line, three-line, plan view, section cut, conduit, grounding, and material drawings.
• Manage budgets and schedules for multiple substation design projects.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Power/Power Systems experience is preferred.
• Proficient in quality assurance and quality control of high voltage substation design projects.
• High voltage substation design experience (physical & P&C).
• Technical expertise in performing complex research and developing recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Ability to prepare one-lines, connection diagrams, panel elevations, and protection & control schematics for power substation equipment.
• Experience in performing engineering calculations/studies related to substation projects, such as lightning protection, conduit fill, AC/DC station service loading, surge arrester sizing, and voltage drop.
• Familiarity with raceway drawings, grounding drawings, plan and section drawings.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with team members, delegate work, and provide status updates to upper management.
