We are seeking a Signal Design Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate would reside in Jacksonville, FL or Omaha, NE.

Our Signal Design Engineer will provide integrated signal/train control and communications designs associated with the development of new and modified rail and transit systems for rail transit agencies, passenger, and freight railroads.

Primary Duties:

• Assist in the development of contractor bid documents consisting of specifications, drawings, and construction or engineer’s estimates for all levels of design and construction projects.
• Developing detailed phased system circuit and layout plans and sketches for staged cutovers of new and modified systems.
• Some Field work is expected, and the candidate should be able to travel to project sites.

Required Experience:

• 
  3 - 5 years’ design experience in passenger, freight, and transit signal systems
• Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the FRA, FTA, AREMA, and FHWA rules, regulations, and requirements.
• Working knowledge of current U.S. supplier technologies
• Understanding and knowledge of rail and transit signaling fail safe principles.
• Understanding and knowledge of rail and transit safety and operating concepts and principles
• Good communication skills – verbal and written.

Preferred Experience:

• 
  Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
• Engineering degree
