Designer / Revit Modeler (Structural)

Senior Designer / Revit Modeler (Structural)

The Designer / Revit Modeler is an entry level position for individuals who have two years or less of

Revit modeling experience. This individual should have:

  • A two-year technical degree or equivalent certified technical training in the use of Autodesk

Revit software.

  • An interest in the application of Revit modeling in the field of structural engineering.
  • The capability of working in a collaborative environment with a team of professional engineers and Revit modelers.
  • Ability to interpret and follow direction from engineering and Revit modeling staff in development project Revit models.
  • Initiative in becoming capable of developing the project Revit model and preparation of project documents including plans, sections, details, schedules, notes and all forms of document annotation.
  • Ability to work in a professional consulting engineering design office and become knowledgeable of the aspects of the structural engineering field related to building construction.
  • Desire to increase personal knowledge and capability in the use of Revit modeling technology and participate in development of company standards, templates and tools to increase productivity in the use of Revit.

The Senior Designer / Revit Modeler is a position for individuals with two or more years of Revit modeling experience in the field of structural engineering. This individual should have:

  • A two-year technical degree or equivalent certified technical training in the use of Autodesk

Revit software.

  • Experience in the application of Revit modeling software in a structural consulting engineering firm preparing project documents for commercial projects of significant size and complexity.
  • The capability of working in a collaborative environment with a team of professional engineers and Revit modelers and providing advice and guidance in the preparation of project documents using Revit.
  • Experience in coordinating the structural Revit model with Revit models of other design disciplines (architectural, mechanical) to identify conflicts and notify design engineers where the structural Revit model may be deficient.
  • Ability to manage and provide direction to Revit modelers with less experience in the development of project Revit models and project documents and perform quality control review of work done by others.
  • Desire to increase personal knowledge and capability in the use of Revit modeling technology and participate in development of company standards, templates and tools to increase productivity in the use of Revit.
  • For scheduling and budgeting purposes, learn to estimate the time necessary to develop the project Revit model and prepare project documents.
  • Ability to train the design engineering staff and other Designers/Revit modelers in the efficient use of the Revit modeling tool.
